Neighborhoods Included

Camelot, Thousand Oaks, Windcrest, Converse, Kirby, Cibolo, Selma, and more

The Far Northeast area of San Antonio consists of several neighborhoods with enough variety in character to satisfy many lifestyles. No shortage of opportunities to spend time outdoors hinders residents on this side of the city, with McAllister Park and Crescent Bend Nature Park nearby for hiking, biking, and picnicking. Windcrest Golf Club, a public course that attracts golf lovers of all skill levels, also gives locals a chance to enjoy the warm weather. And, for those who prefer to stay indoors, The Forum at Olympia Parkway allows patrons to shop ‘til they drop.

Overall, this rapidly growing area provides affordability and convenience, particularly compared to more centrally located San Antonio neighborhoods. Yet, the close proximity to major highways means that people living in the Far Northeast don’t need to sacrifice the urban delights of San Antonio.

Neighborhood Vibe

Each of the neighborhoods in the Far Northeast area possesses its own distinct character and feel. Camelot and Thousand Oaks are more established areas with tree-lined streets and a blend of older and modern architecture. Windcrest gives off a strong community vibe. Converse and Kirby appeal to employees working at the Randolph Air Force Base. And, Cibolo and Selma, newer and still growing, attract people seeking modern conveniences.

Our Favorite Spots

Because of its rapidly growing population, the Far Northeast contains a diverse mix of restaurants and cuisines. For seafood, check out Bayseas Catfish House #5, which has been serving up its famous gumbo for over forty years. If you love authentic Korean food, Kim’s Galbi is one of the oldest Korean BBQ restaurants in town. Finally, what’s life without a little dessert? To tame your sweet tooth, look no further than Arctic Ape Wild Desserts, which features an ever-changing menu of soft serve options and over 150 toppings to choose from.

Things to Know

The Far Northeast appeals to residents seeking a slower, quieter lifestyle with a suburban feel, but without sacrificing the amenities of living in a large city. Furthermore, many of the neighborhoods in this area emit a tight-knit, small-town vibe. This rapidly expanding locale brings in a diverse population and unique shopping and dining options. Although well-connected, the major highways do become congested during high commute times, but many people find the trade-off of a slower pace of life worth the extra time and distance.

Great service, takes the stress out of apartment searching. This is actually my second time using Aptamigo in Denver. Worked with Bralie who was amazing. She was super communicative, candid, helpful, and definitely knew a lot about the market and buildings before touring. You pretty much just have a conversation on what you're looking for and they take care of the rest. Thanks for the help!

Great experience with Bobby. I contacted him literally only a day before flying out to Austin, and he was able to set up appointments for me the very next day. He picked me up and drove me around to the different places, and when I suddenly found out I'd have another roommate, he worked with me to pivot into finding 2/2's instead of 1/1's. He talked to each of the leasing…

AptAmigo's apartment locator service was an absolute LIFESAVER for my partner and I!! Aptamigo offered to connect me with an expert for free and I didn't think it would be legit. Julia emailed me that night offering to set up a call the next day, I was concerned about how much it would cost me and she assured me it would all be completely free. So she called me the next day and…

Wow! What a time saver! Had a short time to find apartment and after an introduction call, where we discussed my needs/wants, Liz sent me over a list of potential apartments. She then set up all the appointments as I was flying in for 2 days to view. She found places that fit my budget and desires and selected the second apartment viewed as it was perfect! I cannot rave enough…

I was planning to move from out of state to Chicago and Vanessa at AptAmigo quickly reached out and provided some recommendations. The website was easy to use to learn about different locations and see reviews. Vanessa was always ready to help and acted fast when I made a decision. I’m not sure how she had so much time in her day, but I would highly recommend signing up if you are moving.

My roommate and I were struggling with finding the right apartment that met all of our ends (price, move-in date, location) and I reached out to AptAmigo for help. Bobby helped us find an apartment within a few hours and we were able to apply and sign the lease within a few days. He was so helpful and answered all my questions that I had. Definitely recommend! (and its free)

I had been looking at apartments in Chicago for months and had no luck finding anything. Then my friend told me that Apt. Amigo really helped her and she referred me to Kristin. It was such a pleasure working with her, she made it such an easy process and I ended up finding an apartment I really liked! Thanks Kristin :)
