Love the layout of my apartment. The view is great. Just made a lot of upgrades to the building and community areas which were needed to stay modern. Can walk almost everywhere.

Asbury Plaza was by far the most bang for your buck in the most sought after neighborhood in Chicago - River North. It was right on the edge of Gold Coast as well, so I got the best of both worlds. Just a short walk from any restaurant, store and night life. The building itself was built in the 80s but is being upgraded, and has tons of amenities and square footage. I'm biased on the management team, because I was also the Assistant Manager.

What did you like most?

Location location location. It's all that matters in Chicago!

What did you like least?

Some apartments were very 80s, but they also cost less. So for people who didn't care as much about how their apartment looked, it was worth it. I suppose the pool deck was rather small for a 384 unit building, but it was pretty underutilized as well.

The building has been under construction for months, and we have had more than 5 days where the water was off for maintenance from 9 - 5PM. It's a great value for the location, but is lacking a few of the nicer touches of the surrounding buildings. For example - it's a heat OR cool air system, so come mid-September you can't cool the unit down if it gets hot out. If you must live in River North and you're relatively budget constrained, it's basically the only option!
