Fulton River District is one of the fastest-growing residential areas in Chicago. Close to River North and The Loop, the neighborhood was once home to Chicago’s transportation and warehouse industries. Here, you’ll now find a mix of re-purposed lofts and high-rise apartments just north of West Loop and West Loop Gate. Since this neighborhood was originally used for industrial purposes, residents won’t find much greenery in this area. However, there are extensive restaurant options and easy access to grocery stores.
The Fulton River District neighborhood is home to many Chicago favorites, including Blommer Chocolate Factory (so expect the faint smell of chocolate from time to time). The offices of Fulton Market and The Loop are only a short walk away, and many residents live here for an easy commute.
Residents live in converted loft apartments and newer high-rise buildings. Expect to see professionals rushing to and from work and locals walking to their favorite neighborhood spots. This area comes alive after 5 pm, with many after-work happy hour options and great local nightlife spots. This neighborhood provides all the luxuries of urban living: a short commute to work and nightlife options right outside your doorstep.
