Love living at 2 East Erie. I previously lived at One West Superior across the street and 2 E Erie is leaps and bounds better.

I'm extremely happy with my building - to the point where I am upset that my landlord is moving back into the unit next year; I would have loved to stay for a few more years until I outgrow the place, even though I could afford to move somewhere significantly larger! The amenities are great, the building is quiet but neighbors are still very friendly, and the neighborhood is extremely convenient. I like leasing from the unit owner because it means most of my communication is with an individual whom I have gotten to know well, versus a management office where they are dealing with dozens/hundreds of tenants - in fact, I would be hesitant to lease from a management office in the future and would prefer to lease from an individual whom I trust.

What did you like most?

The location is great - close enough to the shopping on Michigan Avenue and the food/nightlife scene of River North to be convenient and varied, while far enough off major streets that the tourist traffic isn't too heavy. Building is predominantly young families with a good mix of older, retired couples and young professionals, which I think prevents the building from being too dominated by a certain 'vibe' or personality.

What did you like least?

Many of the buildings in the area were built in the 80's and then updated about 5-10 years ago, so the kitchens and bathrooms are nice but not super modern. I would have preferred updated counters (i.e., natural stone) and appliances (more energy-efficient) but everything still looks good and works well.

Amazing place to live--location was sandwiched between 2 red line stops, and Trader Joe's, Whole Foods and Jewel were all within a few blocks. It is surrounded by a vibrant River North bar and restaurant scene. As for the building itself, the roof deck is amazing and offers unobstructive westward facing views (makes for a great sunset) and the gym was top quality. The only thing missing is a pool.

What did you like most?

gym, staff of the building and their responsiveness, cleanliness of the building, location.

What did you like least?

temperature control within the units left a little to be desired.

The building and neighborhood are solid- what you'd expect in the heart of River North. Nice deck but no pool, nice gym but older equipment, mostly unused hospitality space (limited social gatherings), one doorman is great while the rest are average, and the option to have monthly assessments directly withdrawn from my bank account is a plus. Dry cleaning in-house is pretty clutch too.

What did you like most?

The custom interior (woodwork, lighting, finishes, design, steam showers, heated floors, etc.) of the condo is what set it apart. The maintenance staff refer to it as the nicest unit in the building

What did you like least?

Bit of an older unit (1999) so the electricity bill is high, heating and air don't work particularly quickly. RCN as negotiated service provider isn't as bad as I thought it would be, but I'd still prefer Xfinity/U-verse/DirecTV
