This little oasis is known to most Atlantans as Morningside-Lenox Park because the two neighborhoods are so close to each other. Here, you’ll find beautiful craftsman and Tudor style homes, small parks, and farmers’ markets— all within reach of Virginia Highland and Ansley Park. This historic community is full of shopping districts and family-oriented activities, like the Morningside Nature Preserve and the Daniel Johnson Nature Preserve, making it one of the city's emerging neighborhoods. You can pass through this sweet little neighborhood pretty quickly, but if you enjoy intown action with green space— it's worth slowing down for.

Although most residents of Morningside - Lenox Park own their homes, you can still find plenty of rental options. Mostly single-family homes, with a handful of multi-unit complexes that have been built in the past five years. Because this area is located so conveniently close to downtown but offers the serene environment of a suburb, prices tend to run higher than other intown areas.

Neighborhood Life

A friendly neighborhood known for its urban-suburban mix and walkability. This area is alive with lush green parks, restaurants with live bands, and busy professionals. Morningside - Lenox Park is also home to its namesake elementary school that offers one of Atlanta's top gifted programs. Families often make the move to this district simply to enroll their children in the school system.

Local Hangouts

Don’t let the small-town feel fool you. Morningside-Lenox Park is packed with entertainment and activities. Foodies come out in groves for weekend brunch at the popular tavern Hobnob. It's a warm and inviting atmosphere that welcomes patrons with board games at every table, refined pub dishes, and songs of yesteryear performed by live local bands. If you plan to spend time in this neighborhood, make sure you visit the Morningside Farmers’ Market. Open every Saturday year-round; it is the first and only market in Atlanta that requires all produce to be certified organic.

Things to Know

Conveniently sandwiched in-between Virginia Highlands, Ansley Park, and Druid Hills, this neighborhood is one of Atlanta’s most walkable neighborhoods. Morningside-Lenox Park offers homeowners a chance to live close to the heart of the city with plush landscaping and front yards. Charming bungalows and craftsman style homes are mostly what you’ll find here. If you're looking for the hustle and bustle of city life, you might prefer the Downtown Atlanta neighborhood more.
