Casual yet exciting, the Inner Loop West-Greenway Community provides as great a place to splurge on a high-end meal or catch your favorite band as to set down roots. But, for non-native H-towners, let’s clarify what the “inner loop” means. It simply refers to the area within the boundary created by the loop of Interstate 610. Within this section of the city, you can find a few smaller neighborhoods, all unique and all with reputations as wonderful places to live.

First, the Washington Avenue Coalition / Memorial Park neighborhood features new builds and some of the best green spaces anywhere in the city. Then, the Afton Oaks / River Oaks area, one of the oldest residential communities in Houston, is defined by mansions that look like architectural gems. Finally, there’s the Greenway / Upper Kirby area with its popular West Ave, a street bustling equally with entertainment and residential offerings.
