The Van der Rohe is an old construction (1952) rental building in Lincoln Park.
What Occupants Love
Friendly/social fellow residents. Excellent unit fixtures and lake views. Fun and lively surrounding neighborhood. Great outdoor patio scene.
What Occupants Love Less
Laundry room wait times. Some residents feel that in-unit temperature control,internet/Wi-Fi connectivity, and building security could improve.

Great for someone in their mid-20's, love the neighborhood and the building patio. Very fun area.
What did you like most?
The gym and patio were selling points for me.
What did you like least?
The door buzzer system is extremely difficult, still haven't figured it out. Elevators seem old/slow but living on the 2nd floor makes it a non-issue.
Pretty good overall - excellent access to buses to downtown, great location next to the lake for runs, walking distance to multiple grocery stores, restaurants, shops; building is nice and kept up well. Has a package room and dry cleaning in the building very convenient. The office hours for management/attendants could improve. Also, a downside is it costs $40 to get into your apartment if you forgot your keys.
Great experience. Not much of a communal feel in the building which I was hoping for. Expensive so will likely be moving in the near future. Clean. Quiet. Responsive management. Thin walls makes it easy to hear neighbors. No community activities.
