The Ludlow: A Premier Apartment Complex in Chicago
The Ludlow stands as a striking example of historic preservation meeting modern luxury in Chicago’s vibrant West Lincoln Park neighborhood. Originally constructed in 1913 as the Ludlow Typograph Company building, this iconic structure has been meticulously reimagined into a residential community that offers contemporary living while honoring its rich architectural and industrial history.
Historic Charm Meets Modern Living
Designated a historical landmark in 2022, The Ludlow’s architecture reflects classic Chicago industrial design, featuring expansive loft-style windows and ceilings soaring up to 12 feet. These elements bathe each apartment in natural light, while high-end finishes such as luxury plank flooring, custom quartz countertops, stainless steel Samsung appliances, and under-cabinet lighting elevate the interior space to a new level of comfort and style.
The apartments range from studios to three-bedroom lofts, with some units boasting private terraces—offering a perfect outdoor retreat in the city. Large closets with built-in shelving and in-unit laundry facilities are standard features, combining functionality with luxury for residents.
Amenities Tailored for a Lifestyle of Comfort and Convenience
The Ludlow offers a comprehensive suite of amenities designed to enhance residents’ daily lives. A state-of-the-art fitness center includes an infra-red sauna for recovery, alongside a private yoga studio, inviting wellness and relaxation within the building.
Professional and social spaces abound: residents can take advantage of a stylish co-working lounge suited for remote work or study, a communal lounge complete with a chef’s kitchen and entertainment area, and a rooftop bar and lounge with panoramic views of the Chicago skyline. The rooftop bar, expected to open in spring 2025, will serve craft cocktails and culinary creations led by award-winning chefs, making it a vibrant social hub within the community.
Additional thoughtful features include a dog run and washing station for pet owners, bike storage with repair stations, gated entry, parking including EV charging stations, package concierge options, and regular curated resident events—creating a neighborhood-oriented environment within the apartment complex.

Location & Neighborhood
Lincoln Park

Just north of Old Town, Lincoln Park is one of the largest and most popular Chicago neighborhoods– and for good reason. Most residents are a short distance away from some of the best nightlife, dining, lakefront parks, shopping, and tree-lined streets in the entire city. It combines all the best aspects of a close-knit community with the appeal of the big city. This means rental prices can be high.
Residents live mostly in walk-ups, but there are quite a few high-rises, especially near the lake. Lincoln Parkers are spoiled with their close proximity to the lake and ample running and biking trails. Lincoln Park has the second largest shopping concentration in the city: ranging from high-end boutiques to secondhand resale shops.
Lincoln Park also offers public tennis and basketball courts, baseball and softball diamonds, and soccer fields that are used recreationally and by intramural leagues. Weekends can be spent strolling through the Lincoln Park Zoo, hitting a bucket of golf balls at the Diversey Bay Harbor, or heading to Lakeview or The Loop easily via the Brown Line.
