Van Buren Lofts is a new construction (2002), limited-amenity condo building on the fringe of West Loop.
What Occupants Love
Excellent in-unit temperature and internet/Wi-Fi connectivity. Building staff goes above and beyond. Great variety of dining options. Convenient location, close to the Loop and highways.
What Occupants Love Less
Limited amenities and gym offerings. Noise from the highway at night. Private/distant fellow residents. Some residents feel that management could be a bit more accommodating.

I had a great experience. I have to also mention that I recently bought the condo I am living in, so I made sure to factor a lot of wants and needs. In the boxes below, I'll share brief notes with regards to living in Lincoln Park, Lakeview, South Loop, and Streeterville (I've hopped around...)
What did you like most?
It does not get any better than living in Lincoln Park and Lakeview as a yuppie straight out of college. The vibe is excellent. As I got older, I got tired of it and moved to the West Loop, where it is more laid back. Streeterville was also nice, but it's still a bit away from the yuppie feel. It's more touristy actually since many walk around Michigan Avenue (I was near the Watertower Place so it got pretty heavy with tourists). South Loop I felt was away from everything, so although I had no issues living there, I just felt apart from everyone else.
What did you like least?
I did not like the very old units in Lincoln Park, Lakeview, and Streeterville. You are clearly paying for location in those areas. South Loop was at least a bit more modern and newer.
It has been good so far with a few issues effecting other residents but not us personally
