6806 W Devon Ave Apartments

I grew up down the block and made a conscious effort to stay in my neighborhood of Norwood Park on Chicago's Northwest side. My apartment is a two flat (could be a three flat) owned by a family that I've known since first grade. I occupy the top floor. The first floor is occupied by my best friend who I attended high school with. My experience is clearly not that of your average apartment renter. Norwood Park is a real community in Chicago and is filled with people who were born and raised in the surrounding neighborhood and attended grade school and high school nearby. There are few transplants here. It is a tight knit community and more a small town then a neighborhood in a large city. With all that being said, people moving to Chicago from other areas may not value Norwood as much as I do. The nightlife of other areas is much more attractive then the local bars that are packed with regulars. However, you won't feel safer anywhere else and the Metra stops two blocks away. It's cheap to live up here. I lived in Lakeview. It was great, but would never leave Norwood again.
