from Chicago, IL
I chose this building to save money, but the apartment I rent is large, they replaced my old AC with a new one when I asked, and the only real downside is an occasional cockroach (Maybe about 4 since moving in in May). The location can't be beat.
What did you like most?
The location and the size of the apartment are excellent, having a dishwasher in this price range is great too.
What did you like least?
No in unit laundry, things are out of date and lower cost, only one room has climate control so the bedroom gets rather warm.

Location & Neighborhood

Lincoln Park

Just north of Old Town, Lincoln Park is one of the largest and most popular Chicago neighborhoods– and for good reason. Most residents are a short distance away from some of the best nightlife, dining, lakefront parks, shopping, and tree-lined streets in the entire city. It combines all the best aspects of a close-knit community with the appeal of the big city. This means rental prices can be high.

Residents live mostly in walk-ups, but there are quite a few high-rises, especially near the lake. Lincoln Parkers are spoiled with their close proximity to the lake and ample running and biking trails. Lincoln Park has the second largest shopping concentration in the city: ranging from high-end boutiques to secondhand resale shops.

Lincoln Park also offers public tennis and basketball courts, baseball and softball diamonds, and soccer fields that are used recreationally and by intramural leagues. Weekends can be spent strolling through the Lincoln Park Zoo, hitting a bucket of golf balls at the Diversey Bay Harbor, or heading to Lakeview or The Loop easily via the Brown Line.
