Quiet area with families who keep to themselves; mostly safe with 1-2 incidents in over a year at night. Good access to nearby suburbs (being near the city boundary), airport, highways and beltways (I-55, I-294), and other convenient locations.

Not quite a neighborly atmosphere with young professionals like myself to interact and engage. Area feels somewhat like a minority enclave with many retail geared toward minorities, suggesting how segregated Chicago as a city is with its socio-political history. One can feel quite lonesome here. Most young professionals tend to live on the Northside or in the suburbs (North, West, South) with much more communal, urban, chic living settings and not in poorer, minority family environments like Southwest and South sides where many are unemployed or marginally employed.
