4717 N Winchester Ave Apartments

This apartment's best selling point is its location. It is in a quiet, safe neighborhood and is only a short walk from the CTA (Damen Brown line), Metra (Ravenswood), Mariano's grocery store, gym, bars and restaurants, two physical locations of my bank, the local library, two parks, and more. In addition, for being in such a great location, the price is very reasonable for a 1BR and for what the building offers.

I have had a few issues that stem just from the building being from the 1930s (cockroaches!!, leaking radiator, backed up kitchen sink, etc.). I also did experience an attempted break in - I was home at the time. I still feel very safe in my apartment and neighborhood, however. If I could pick and choose, there are a few amenities I wish I had, mostly because I also work at home and am in the apartment the majority of the day. (I transitioned to working from home after I had moved into this apartment; had I known at the time, I may have looked for a place with different features.) However, I realize that I'm pretty fairly getting what I pay for, and the apartment really does meet all of my day-to-day needs.
