Overall I would say I enjoy living there, but there are some things about the building, unit and neighborhood that I like and that I dislike. See below for a breakdown of both.
What did you like most?
The unique layout of the unit is different than typical "Chicago style apartments, which I like. It is a shotgun style so you can stand on one end of the apartment and see the entire way through. I like the exposed brick, black and white laminate tiles in the kitchen and the large closet. The location is great, close to public transit.
What did you like least?
My upstairs neighbor is so loud. Every morning I am woken up by his or her stomping, but I am too nervous to confront them about this issue. Also, my landlord is a bit unresponsive to issues. The shower squeaks when I turn it on, and the toilet does not flush unless I hold the flusher down the entire time. I don't expect my rental apartment to be perfect, but for the price I am paying (I believe it is overpriced for the quality and location), I would expect it to be a little bit more well maintained. There is not a decent grocery store within walking distance. There is a lack of stores to browse on the weekend -- it's all restaurants and bars.
