Great neighborhood for a single girl. It's very safe and there are a variety of quick healthy food options. The building itself is old and somewhat run down, but the cheapest in the neighborhood. And, if you're a young single girl, you're not home enough for the amenities or lack thereof to matter. There are plenty of amazing bars and restaurants in the neighborhood to spend time at.

Great location (if you like or work near Streeterville), excellent door staff. The elevators are living on borrowed time, management companies are a revolving door, and the condo association is predominately older owners who haven't been able to sell their units yet. With a location near the hospital, the residents are generally medical students/residents, or...the kind of people who need to live near a hospital.
What did you like most?
There is a pool on the 26th floor - old, but great in the summertime with fantastic views. The location is awesome - near the lake, near Michigan Avenue, easy to get on public transportation.
What did you like least?
Elevators break down on a weekly basis. And there's only two - for 15 floors.

The building consists of owner owned condos, and so while there is a management company, they only handle building-wide maintenance or emergencies. The building consists of medical school residents and senior citizens and there are only 1 bedrooms and studios in the building. The elevators have issues and the plumbing has flooded the building at times. So this building isn't the best building by far. However, the neighborhood is great. There are tons of amenities and it's a short walk to pretty much any bus line and the red line. So you really can't beat the neighborhood.
What did you like most?
Proximity to shopping, nightlife, the lakefront and public transit.
What did you like least?
The general state of the building. Also, with a lot of senior citizens, noise complaints can be an issue (if you're noisy).

Location

Streeterville

Streeterville is a lively neighborhood on the shores of Lake Michigan. It combines tourism, residential living, and culture, unlike any other Chicago neighborhood. Every day, thousands of tourists flock to Navy Pier, the Magnificent Mile, and the Museum of Contemporary Art to experience some of Chicago’s most iconic attractions. Northwestern’s Chicago campus and Memorial Hospital contribute to Streeterville’s cultural presence.

Residents typically live in high-rise condos or multi-unit apartments where they can enjoy beautiful lake views and easy access to nearby dining and nightlife options. With many lush parks in the neighborhood and Gold Coast to the North, residents have ample space to take dogs for weekend walks.

Commuting via Lake Shore Drive is supremely convenient for Streeterville residents as long as you have a car or can walk to the red line or Michigan Ave buses. Depending on your location within the neighborhood, access to other highways, public transportation, and The Loop can be limited. If you'd like to have easier access to the Loop, check out New East Side.

Streeterville is home to some of Chicago’s best restaurants, bars, and clubs. Although there are plenty of nightlife options, Streeterville is not considered the nightlife capital of Chicago. People often head to other neighborhoods to take part in a more lively nightlife scene.
