We only moved in about six weeks ago, but it's been okay so far - I love the North Center/Lincoln Square neighborhoods, but the building is pretty average. We moved from Lincoln Park, where our apartment was smaller but had better floors/windows/tub/bike storage. We lived there for two years, but the apartment was in a desert of restaurants, shopping, and even grocery stores. Our new place is in a much more vibrant area, and Lincoln Square/North Center feels much more like a small town in a big city. Our rent is almost exactly the same for about 250 more square feet.
What did you like most?
Easy access to shops/restaurants on Lincoln and Damen, it's quiet and no one bothers us. There aren't too many apartment buildings around (mostly single family homes and two-flats). I live about a ten-minute walk from my work, and commute on foot every day. We sold our car and have been walking/biking everywhere.
What did you like least?
Little natural light, pretty poor laundry and bike storage situation, building in general is old and not very well maintained, smoker neighbors dominate the shared back deck, no dogs allowed.
