The walls are paper thin. I can hear everything my neighbor does. There’s water leaking from the walls and maintenance has yet to fix it.

Great building in a somewhat boring part of town. Physically beautiful but lacking close, affordable restaurants and night life. Finishings are good enough, though not outstanding. Gym and other amenities are excellent and well maintained. What do you like most: Modern design and finishings. What do you like least: Rent is expensive on a per sqft basis.

Located 5 minutes away from Michigan Avenue, Coast offers luxury apartments with breathtaking views of the city center in a community-like environment. Modern apartments, fully equipped kitchens, a generous gym and nice community areas. What do you like most: Location, location, location. Five minutes away from Michigan Avenue (and all it entails: restaurants, shopping, nightlife), Marianos grocery shop 5 minutes away and, most importantly, connected to the METRA through an underground pedway. What do you like least: Unfortunately there is no indoor pool and outdoor pools are closed more than half a year in a city like Chicago.

If you're looking to live in the Loop, Lakeshore East is a great neighborhood. This is one of the better Magellan properties in terms of value for the amenities you get. Great doormen, fantastic gym/sauna/spa. I would live here longer if I wanted to stay in the loop.

Generally positive; the building is new and the staff is great but they skimped on everything in the actual units. Floors are fake hardwood, glass is thin, cabinets are particleboard, there is no sink disposal, doors and finishes feel very cheap, etc. For my purpose, the location is incredibly difficult to beat but once I no longer need to access the Metra each day (at the end of my current lease), I will absolutely move into an actual neighborhood.

What did you like most?

Amenities, in-unit laundry, good temperature control, location (for transportation and grocery shopping purposes, not restaurants, neighborhood vibe, etc.), views.

What did you like least?

Apartment finishes (super cheap), lack of charm/personality in neighborhood, tough location to get Ubers/cabs (the three layers of Wacker drive are killer for them), noise through the windows.
