8 East 9th Street is a new construction (2009), full-amenity rental building in South Loop. Slightly older building, but decent value for the area. Full amenity building, but the amenities don't have a “wow factor.” Some floor plans are very well laid out. 1 bedroom units can feel small pending the floor plan.

Great dining options. Convenient location without many tourists. Excellent in-unit temperature control and shower pressure. Solid internet/Wi-Fi connection. Well maintained. Doormen go above and beyond.
Residents feel the neighborhood has somewhat limited nightlife options. One resident believes the pool is small.

The building is very nice and the location is outstanding. Far enough south to not get too many tourists and a few blocks from Grant park and museums.
Good. Rent is increasing. Supposed to be consistent with the neighborhood, but feels pricey compared to previous locations in Chicago. Amenities also include onsite dry cleaning pick-up and drop off device (with lockers).
Proximity to lake and red/ orange lines , dry cleaning service, and indoor parking.
College students in the building.
Positive - rent feels high for the amenities, but will likely become more competitive as new buildings come onto the market nearby.
