121 West Chestnut Street is a new construction (2001), full-amenity rental building in Gold Coast.
What Occupants Love
Well maintained common areas. Access to the best of Gold Coast and River North shopping, dining, and nightlife. Doormen/security go above and beyond. Nice sundeck scene.
What Occupants Love Less
Moderate gym offerings. Some residents cite inconsistent in-unit temperature control and believe management could be a bit more accomodating.
Nearby Chestnut Tower
Looks nice from the outside. Once you live here...not so much. Everything is shoddily built from the cabinets to the cheap paint they use. Walls are thin. Floors are thin. Management is fairly rude (though they do respond the most).
What did you like most?
Convenience of the neighbourhood. Within a few minutes walk from grocery stores, red line/brown line, bus stop etc. Covered parking in the building (though a hassle to get to). Washer/dryer in unit. 24/7 building maintenance if anything does go wrong.
What did you like least?
Pressure to re-sign a year long lease comes quickly (2 months before move-in). The guest suite that they mentioned when I moved in has gone up significantly in price and makes it unaffordable relative to hotels nearby. It was an amenity I had planned on using but have had to skip.
Been very good for the first few months, they are very responsive to requests.
