Deco Apartments

There were around 3-4 a fire sprinkle water leaks in the the building in the past 2 weeks and seems that they cant control the situation. On Sunday, the fire alarm sounded all night in a half of the building and water leaked through some units and public spaces in level 1. It seems that there no qualified staff to resolve last minute issues like this one.

Please don't get trapped into wasting your money on this place and thinking you're living in a 'luxury' apartment. I lived at my last placed for 2.5 years, it was another luxury apartment in Denver and I moved just because I wanted a bit of a change / different location, at face value DECO has everything you could want, but once you're trapped in a lease it goes all downhill from there. Management is a mess, they don't care about any concerns they just have excuses for why they can't do things or circle it back to blame it on you. First of all - The place is just downright dirty, there is dog poop everywhere, the dog run constantly smells of dog pee, when maintenance does clean it they just spray it onto the parking garage so then there is poop on the parking garage. The hallways smell of dog pee as well due to irresponsible dog owners. Appearance wise - I was drawn to the white walls at first because of the modern look, but now the hallways are just disgusting looking because of the marks all over them. Second of all - the parking garage is a complete disaster. My car was side swiped in the garage almost right away & the leasing office told me their cameras don't actually face the garage so they have no way of helping me provide video footage to insurance. Everyone parks over the lines so it's almost impossible to find a place to park without your car getting dinged up. After bringing these concerns to management, they basically told me that the only good option would be for me to pay for a reserved parking spot. So I did. There has been 4 times now when I've gotten home and somebody has been in my reserved spot. When I e-mailed management they told me that they have no way to prove who has reserved and unreserved spots so they don't tow from reserved spots because they don't want error in towing someone. I suggested maybe different tags for reserved parking spot holders to help out. But again, this is just an instance where management doesn't seem to care or want to be proactive. They tell me to call and have cars towed when they are in my spot. I'm not trying to be that neighbor getting anyones car towed, I just would like to be able to come home and park in my spot. Again, I think management should be doing something proactively for not only me, but for the person parking in the spot so they don't come out to their car towed. Another issue, they claim these great amenities, which at first look awesome, but as of last week we were told that no guests are allowed at the pool due to 'covid', even though this entire time pretty much guests have been allowed at the pool, masks aren't being worn around the place, and there are no other covid protocols. Seems just like a way for them to micromanage the complex and get people sucked into paying a ton for rent and then not even be able to fully use amenities and they have no lenience on it. For instance, if my 15 year old sister wanted to come visit, I'd have to tell her to wait in my apartment while I go enjoy the pool.... like what? The gym at first glance looks awesome because of how big it is, but they could be doing so much more with the space, when I moved in they told me they took requests for new equipment and ideas but they've shot down every single one of them. Last thing I can think of - they implemented this community app which sounds amazing at first but realistically if you post any sort of complaint about management or the property, they just remove your comment and ban you. I know of at least 10 people that have been banned just for saying things like "can people park a little nicer in the garage?" "what's up with the bike thefts?" "is management going to do something about all these fire alarms?" The actual inside of the apartment is nice, haven't had any issues & it's a modern apartment just as it appears. But management and the complex over all is just going downhill fast. At first I chalked it up to it being a new building and they would figure it out, but it just seems to be getting worse & worse. I'd save your money & look elsewhere.
