It has everything I really cared about, but not everything I might have wanted.
What did you like most?
It's a fairly affordable but nice unit in Hyde Park, and you get a fair amount of square footage for what you pay (though it's a condo so rent prices can vary). I can park my car here, I haven't had pest problems, and maintenance requests have been handled promptly. Building security pretty much does its job. The mail and laundry rooms are nice to have as well. Basically, it gives me everything I really cared about. It's also usually pretty quiet, and if someone's blasting music at 2 AM you can call building security on them.
What did you like least?
It's an old building, and although it's well-maintained (most units anyway), it lacks some amenities and has some quirks. My bedroom door doesn't close (sticks a couple inches away), and there's no outlet in the bathroom. The fuses are rated sufficiently low that I can't run a hair dryer. (That's the only thing I can't run, though; I can run a microwave, space heater, etc.) No dishwasher. I also wish I could control my own thermostat, but at least I have two window air units, and temperature control hasn't been a big deal. Finally, parking spaces are kind of tight...but I have an underground garage spot (which I pay $135/month for).

Building is incredibly old and condominium board has many outdated rules that lead to fines. There is no temperature control in the individual units to turn the heat up or down. The outdoor pool can only be access after paying a fee. The laundry machines are old and poorly functioning. However, the unit itself is solid and the landlord/maintenance team responds relatively quickly to requests. The building is very secure and I always feel safe once inside even though the neighborhood itself is not the safest.
What did you like most?
Security/safety of the building
What did you like least?
The difficulty in working with the building management and lack of responsiveness of the landlord.
