It's been an overall good experience, I really like the feel of my apt and layout. The neighborhood will be great once we get past COVID-19. I still enjoy the area and the views from my apt. I wish there was more grass and dog areas for my dog though.
What did you like most?
Good amenities, great location to bars/restaurants (when we're allowed back in them), close to the loop
What did you like least?
Outside noise is a lot (LaSalle is a really busy street), temperature control for heat in apartment is awful (2-pipe system in building only heat or A/C depending on time of year)

It's been OK. Lots of construction and elevator issues. Not ideal.

Building and unit are old and needs to be updated, but I love the neighborhood and old town location

Location

Old Town

Old Town, nestled between Gold Coast and Lincoln Park, takes on these two neighborhoods' attributes and blends them seamlessly. The affluent nature of Gold Coast’s high rises merges with the tree-lined streets and boutiques of Lincoln Park.

Old Town is one of Chicago’s oldest neighborhoods and is steeped in history. Residents live primarily in townhomes, 3-flats, or single family homes. However, there have been multiple new construction high rises built in the last 5 years, including Old Town Park. Old Town’s connection to the loop is via the brown line at the Sedgwick stop.

On weekday mornings, Old Towners can be found sipping on espresso at Elaine’s Coffee Call or taking a look at the latest art pieces at the contemporary art studio. Weeknights in Old Town can be spent eating at Kamehachi, the self-proclaimed “first sushi restaurant in Chicago,” then catching a comedy act at Second City Theater.
