Historically, this neighborhood has been put on the back burner as other popular neighborhoods flourished—but now, West Colfax is finally getting the attention it deserves.


With close proximity to downtown, easy access to Sloan’s Lake, and both the Pepsi Center and Mile High Stadium in its back yard, you can see why West Colfax is officially on our radar.


While the distinction between the Sloan’s Lake neighborhood and West Colfax is often blurred, a few things set them apart. Sloan’s Lake is mostly single-family homes, while West Colfax has a more diverse mixture of mid-rise buildings, single-family homes, and a few brand-new condos. While this neighborhood is mainly residential, there are a few local breweries and coffee shops sprinkled throughout the area. Sloan’s Lake Park is just a stone’s throw away and offers locals a place to run, bike, or walk their dog.


With brand-new buildings juxtaposed beside older homes, West Colfax is full of character and all walks of life. With Colfax Avenue running directly through the neighborhood, it’s easy to get around and explore the rest of Denver. Even though West Colfax has a lot planned for the next few years, you’ll still find local dining and drinking spots there currently. You can find residents enjoying a fresh pint of craft beer at Seedstock Brewery or grabbing a morning pick-me-up at Brew Culture Coffee. Paco Sanchez Park provides a space for locals to play disc golf, picnic, or bike on the Lakewood Gulch Trail. Pick up a good book at the Rodolfo “Corky” Gonzales Library, situated right to the west of the famous “Colfax Clover.”

Things to Know

Bring your car! West Colfax is definitely a driveable neighborhood, and unlike the Central Business District, finding street parking is easy here. Colfax Avenue provides easy access to downtown, and even if you don’t have a car, many residential buildings in West Colfax are right on the RTD Light Rail or Bus paths.


This neighborhood is extremely dog-friendly—with Paco Sanchez Park and many grassy areas throughout, there’s always a place for your pups. Rental prices are more affordable here than in other neighborhoods, but as more entertainment options and luxury buildings arrive, prices are steadily increasing.
