Neighborhood Vibe
LoDo Denver is an eclectic urban jungle with a surprisingly homey feel. You won’t get the “concrete jungle” vibe you might have in the Central Business District, even though they’re neighbors. With hundreds of dining, shopping, and drink options, there’s something for everyone and every mood. If you’re looking for a luxe city life with a laid-back edge, LoDo is for you.
Favorite Spots
LoDo centers around the enormous Union Station train station. Catch contrasting cityscapes and greenery at Confluence Park, walk beneath Larimer Square's string lights, hop on a free bus to shop 16th Street Mall, and take a tour of Coors Field. Stay at the historic Oxford Hotel and make sure you grab a bite from Urban Farmer, Rioja, and Milk Market. Then, shoot some pool at Wynkoop Brewing or grab a drink at The Green Russell (an underground speakeasy). Catch rooftop views of the Rocky Mountain sunset at 54thirty and play a few arcade games at 1Up Arcade Bar.
Things to Know
Transportation is widely available, and owning a car is not required here. Rideshares like Uber or Lyft, and car-sharing services like ZipCar, Turo, and Drift are quite common. Plus, parking is pricier here than anywhere else in Denver. Expect a mix of new sleek high-rises and remodeled historic mid-rise housing options. Activity levels in this neighborhood remain high. However, most new buildings are built to be soundproof and residential entrances often have 24/7 security. Luckily, Riverfront Park is just southwest of LoDo and provides a space for soaking in the sun on Denver's 300+ days of sunshine.
